The Ministry of Health has sought feedback on the discussion document Towards a Cancer Control Strategy for New Zealand. The discussion document was mailed to a wide range of stakeholders and interested parties for consultation. Consultation meetings were held nationally, with feedback from the consultation process helping to inform the final plan.
The New Zealand Cancer Control Strategy was developed, in collaboration with the New Zealand Cancer Control Trust, after this consultation process.

Expert Working Group background papers
These background papers were developed by Expert Working Groups (EWGs) comprising mainly health professionals in the areas of prevention, screening and early detection, treatment, support and rehabilitation, and palliative care. The EWGs' purpose was to provide technical advice to the Cancer Control Steering Group (CCSG) for the development of the Discussion Document: Towards a Cancer Control Strategy for New Zealand - Marihi Tauporo.
The papers are intended to provide additional information to the Discussion Document and do not represent Ministry of Health policy.
