A Difference in Communities: What's Happening in Primary Health Organisations

ISBN 0-478-28332-6 (Book)
ISBN 0-478-28335-0 (Internet)

HP 4076

Date of publication: March 2005

A Difference in Communities: What's happening in Primary Health Organisations, is the first of a planned series of publications to bring together the innovations in health by many different groups. This book provides an overview of what different PHOs are doing in the community right now, mid way through the implementation of the Primary Health Care Strategy.

This book is but a sample of the many different projects being carried out; it is not intended to be a comprehensive survey and as such many worthy stories have not been included, but the Ministry hopes to include them in future publications.

The purpose of this book is to provide reliable and easily accessible information about what PHOs are doing in key Strategy areas such as Health Promotion, Care Plus and Services to Improve Access. The book provides an overview of a range of health programmes, but more in depth information about each project can be obtained by those who need it by getting in touch with the PHO directly - contact details are given at the end of each story.
