Health of Older People in New ZealandA Statistical Reference

This statistical report is designed to assist implementation of the Health of Older People Strategy, Health Sector Action to 2010 to Support Positive Ageing (Associate Minister of Health and Minister for Disability Issues 2002). It provides information about New Zealand’s older population to help the Ministry of Health, District Health Boards and service providers to plan for and deliver services to current and future cohorts of older people. The information also provides a baseline from which to monitor changes, over time, in the population group and in the services they use.
