Regulation of Food in New Zealand


New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) and Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) are responsible for food safety and food standards in New Zealand.

If you have questions about food safety (eg food additives, artificial sweeteners, contaminants in food, food premises registration, food labelling and food complaints) please contact the NZFSA.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ)


Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is based on a partnership between the governments of Australia and New Zealand, and is responsible for developing, varying, and reviewing food standards for food available in Australia and New Zealand.
