Appointments to Health Statutory Bodies
www.moh.govt.nz/statutorybodies
The Minister of Health has responsibility to make appointments to a range of statutory authorities, including District Health Boards, other Crown entities, health professional authorities
and other statutory bodies.
Appointments to these bodies are generally for a three-year term of office. The Ministry of Health is responsible for assisting the Minister in making these appointments.
The roles of these Crown entities and other statutory bodies vary, as do the roles and responsibilities of the appointed members. Membership of the bodies ranges from those with professional or health practitioner qualifications (which may be required by the legislation relating to the body), to laypersons or consumer representatives.
