The National Diabetes Retinal Screening Grading System and Referral Guidelines (2006) and CD (2008) identify grading and show images used in diabetes retinal screening. Accompanying the guidelines is a quick reference visual guide demonstrating Diabetic Retinopathy (Retina Peripheral to the Macula) and Diabetic Macula Disease.
Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease Quality Improvement Plan
The Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease Quality Improvement Plan sets out nationally consistant recommendations and areas for priority actions to help improve diabetes and cardiovascular disease services in New Zealand.

This report provides estimates for known (diagnosed) type 2 diabetes incidence, prevalence and mortality for 2001, and projections under various scenarios to 2011. It updates an earlier model published by the Ministry of Health in 2002.
