All New Zealand residents now have free access to reliable up-to-date evidence on medical interventions from the Cochrane Library.
The Cochrane Library
is a collection of regularly updated evidence-based healthcare databases that can help clinicians and consumers make decisions about appropriate and effective health care. The Library brings together in one place research which looks at the effectiveness of different health care treatments and interventions.
The Cochrane Library includes systematic reviews from the Cochrane Collaboration (www.cochrane.org), a UK registered international charity and the world's leading producer of systematic reviews. These reviews bring together research on the effects of health care and are considered the gold standard for determining the relative effectiveness of different interventions.
The Library is an internationally renowned collection of seven internet databases of health information, updated quarterly, designed to help health care professionals make treatment decisions and inform patients about the care they receive.
