Fruit in Schools
Goals and objectives
Fruit in Schools aims to support student learning through supporting the well being of the school community.
Goals:
Increasing overall fruit consumption of children in participating schools
Enabling schools and communities in areas of high need to foster healthy eating, physical activity, smoke free and sun protection
Promoting health strategies that support the specific needs of high need communities
Objectives:
To increase the number of school communities promoting health through whole school approaches
To increase awareness, implementation and ownership, in schools and supporting communities, of policies and practices that encourage:
healthy eating
physical activity
smoke free
sun smart
To encourage participating school communities to commit to continued promotion of the benefits of fresh fruit daily and other health initiatives generated by the programme.
