Primary Health Care
Implementation Work Programme 2006 - 2010
The Primary Health Care Strategy Implementation Work Programme 2006 - 2010 is the next phase of work on the implementation of the Primary Health Care Strategy. It focuses on reducing inequalities, engaging communities, and the management of chronic conditions.
Toward 2010, the programme is focused on achieving five key goals:
Informed communities
Primary health care actively working towards reducing inequalities
Enhanced delivery
Capability development, and
Shared ownership and responsibility for the primary health care system and outcomes.
To meet these goals, four workstreams have been established:
Funding and accountability
Service development
Infrastructure and Sector development
Change management.
