Asset Testing to be removed
Ruth Dyson, Associate Health Minister and Minister for Senior Citizens, has announced the government will progressively remove asset testing of older people in long-term residential care from 1 July 2005.
21 February 2003:
Older people's disability funding transferred to DHBs
Funding for disability support services for older people will be transferred from the Ministry of Health to district health boards from 1 October 2003, Associate Health Minister Ruth Dyson said today.
The amount of funding is $700 million, 65 percent of which goes towards residential aged care.
