Summary

Phase Four – Public Consultation of Final Recommendations
Phase Four requires the Director-General of Health to report to the Minister of Health on the review of the operation of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003. The review commenced in October 2007.

The Ministry of Health has recently completed a draft of the review report following a three phase consultation process which comprised of submissions from the sector, surveys and workshops on the findings.

We are now inviting comment on the proposed recommendations of the review report (pages xii to xvi).

This is a change to the process we have previously notified. This fourth phase of consultation has been organised to allow interested parties to see the results of their input, and provide comment on the proposed recommendations.

The final draft of the review report will be available for comment on the Ministry of Health website from 2 February for comment until 20 February 2009.

How to have your say

You are encouraged to comment in writing on the recommendations of the report. We have drafted a form to assist. The form asks three specific questions in relation to each recommendation. Your feedback on the recommendations will assist in the finalisation of the report to the Minister. The form can be found at the back of the review report (page 96).
