Summary

The Ministry of Health released a discussion document in November 2002 called Public Health Legislation: Promoting public health, preventing ill health and managing communicable diseases (‘discussion document’). This discussion paper outlined some issues relating to proposals for a new Public Health Bill to replace the present legislation (the Health Act 1956, the Tuberculosis Act 1948).
