Your breastfeeding plan

Pregnant mothers can talk to their Lead Maternity carer (LMC) about including their breastfeeding plans in their birth plan, for example their decision to breastfeed, who supports them in this, their desire for skin to skin contact immediately after baby is born. The breastfeeding plan could include how to be supported to breastfeed if the birth is more difficult than expected. Mothers can ask the LMC for their breastfeeding policy or the breastfeeding policy of the maternity unit where the baby will be born."
