Implementing and Monitoring the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes in New Zealand

Infant Nutrition Council (INC) Code of Practice for the Marketing of Infant Formula


The INC Code of Practice (2007) applies to the marketing of infant formula products suitable for infants up to the age of six months. The INC developed the code in consultation with the Ministry. It applies to the manufacturers, marketers and distributors of infant formula. The INC is responsible for liaising with and educating the industry sector to ensure the INC Code of Practice is adhered to.

All health workers and other interested parties are encouraged to be aware of the content of the INC Code of Practice.
