Implementing and Monitoring the International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes in New Zealand

Poster

This A3 poster has been developed for health workers working with pregnant mothers and/or new mothers and their families, to increase awareness of The Code of Practice for Health Workers as contained in The Code in New Zealand.

The Code of Practice for Health Workers aims to contribute to health settings which protect, promote and support breastfeeding whilst encouraging health workers to provide adequate and unbiased information about the proper use of breast-milk substitutes (infant and/or follow-on formula).

In addition, health workers should know that infant formula should not be advertised in New Zealand and follow-on formula should not be marketed in a way that undermines breastfeeding.
