Carbon Neutral Public Service Programme:
Emissions Reduction Plan for the Ministry of Health
Date of publication: April 2008
Summary of publication
The Ministry of Health is one of six public service agencies which will lead the way in achieving carbon neutrality by 2012. The programme will concentrate on three key areas - measuring emissions, reducing emissions and offsetting avoidable emissions.
The Ministry has three key areas it will focus on reducing emissions - air travel, energy consumption and waste to landfill. Work has already started in all three of these areas, and it is expected once initiatives developed to reduce emissions come on-stream, measurable reductions will result.
