Goals and objectives


Fruit in Schools aims to support student learning through supporting the well being of the school community.

Goals:

  • Increasing overall fruit consumption of children in participating schools

  • Enabling schools and communities in areas of high need to foster healthy eating, physical activity, smoke free and sun protection

  • Promoting health strategies that support the specific needs of high need communities

Objectives:

  • To increase the number of school communities promoting health through whole school approaches

  • To increase awareness, implementation and ownership, in schools and supporting communities, of policies and practices that encourage:

    1. healthy eating
    2. physical activity
    3. smoke free
    4. sun smart

  • To encourage participating school communities to commit to continued promotion of the benefits of fresh fruit daily and other health initiatives generated by the programme.
