Reducing Health Inequalities for all New Zealanders

Reducing inequalities in health status is a priority for the whole of government as well as the whole of the health sector. A key government goal is to reduce inequalities in education, employment, housing and health for all disadvantaged groups.

The Ministry works closely with other agencies in the justice sector such as New Zealand Police, the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Social Development, to advance the sector’s common goal of a safe and just society for New Zealand.
