Three funding categories

There are three funding categories within Te Ao Auahatanga Hauora Māori.

Te Kākano: Creating Innovation will encourage and support new ideas, systems, processes, and whānau ora focused services that respond to the needs of Māori communities. Providers may apply for funding to scope, develop and, where appropriate, implement, trial or pilot an innovation that meets the key objectives of the Fund.
    Te Pārekereke icon
Te Pārekereke: Sharing Innovation will facilitate forums to share information on service innovations and practices and make resource available to disseminate innovative initiatives. This category focuses on knowledge sharing, through documentation, promotion, evaluation, forums, and resource development.
    Te Ruinga icon.
Te Ruinga: Spreading Innovation will focus on spreading innovative practices across the Māori health sector by enabling the expansion or adoption of effective services among providers. This category will assist providers to collaborate and work together to trial successful and proven services in new locations.

Underpinning these three funding categories is the establishment of Te Pātaka Auahatanga, the storehouse of innovation. This is not a funding category, but a way for knowledge to be shared with the wider sector.
