Summary of publicationCommon sense tells us that the health and habits of mothers are important indicators for the wellbeing of their babies. This report looks at the evidence for pre and post-natal factors that affect the future oral health of children.
The report includes a survey of the literature on the causes and indicators of early childhood caries, and the effectiveness of different strategies to improve infant oral health. The implications of the findings for future research, policy, and service delivery are discussed.
