The National Strategic Plan of Action for Breastfeeding (the Plan) is the advice of the National Breastfeeding Advisory Committee to the Director-General of Health.

To inform the development of the Plan, the Committee commissioned a literature review on breastfeeding in New Zealand, barriers and enablers to breastfeeding, and methods that have been effective in protecting, promoting and supporting breastfeeding.
