Nurse Practioners and Imaging Referrals in New Zealand
Following discussion with NPAC-NZ, the Ministry of Health has been working with colleagues from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) to agree a position statement with respect to nurse practitioners utilising diagnostic imaging, specifically x-ray examination, as part of their practice. We are really pleased to post the following statement from the College and thank their Chair, Mark Leadbitter, for his part in its derivation and agreement. I am sure that both nurse practitioners and radiologists will find this useful as they work together to provide people with the best possible care. - Mark Jones, Chief Nurse
