Christine Andrews


Christine is a registered nurse who joined the Ministry of Health in 2001 as a clinical advisor. Christine works in the Sector Capability and Innovation Directorate providing a range of advice about long term conditions, particularly diabetes and cardiovascular disease, along with a wide range of other clinical issues. Recently she has project managed the start up of the Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease Quality Improvement Plan.

During her time in the Ministry she has also been part of the implementation of the New Zealand Primary Health Care Strategy, particularly the set up of Primary Health Organisations and the Primary Health Care Nursing Innovations. She is an enthusiast for doing things differently in health and testing out new ideas to improve the quality of care.

Christine came to the Ministry from a leadership role in the Capital and Coast DHB Community Health Service. Her career and nursing interests are spread equally across community and hospital settings having worked in paediatrics, community health, nursing education and development, practice nursing, and Plunket. She has a BA (Sociology) and a MA (Nursing) from Victoria University.

Faith Roberts


Faith joined the Ministry of Health in 2004 and has worked on a number of projects including the Hospital Benchmark Information Report, the Child & Youth and the Perinatal & Maternal Mortality Review Committees and Population Surveys.

She previously worked as a Professional Nursing Advisor, New Zealand Nurses Organisation. Her portfolios included Enrolled Nurses, Student Nurses, Parish Nurses, the Infection Control Division and Professional Development and Recognition Programmes (PDRP).

Faith regards Rotorua as her home having lived there for 13 years, at different times working at Lakes DHB and Waiariki Institute of Technology. She strongly values her association with Te Arawa and all that she has learnt.

Faith, educated as a Registered Nurse at Canterbury in England, has a BSc, post graduate certificates in Coronary Care and Adult Teaching and an MA (Nursing). Her Master’s thesis was on PDRP.

Faith has been appointed for a year to cover Gabrielle Roberts' secondment to Private Secretary for Jonathan Coleman.
