Northland DHB: An holistic nurse-led preoperative assessment service

Whangerei Hospital have developed a "lean", patient- focused preoperative system which has improved delivery of care to all their elective surgical patients.

This innovative, holistic approach to preoperative assessment has improved the care they are delivering to a standard which is inline with several clinical indicators within the EQuIP4 accreditation guidelines. It has also recently been awarded Northland DHB’s overall excellence and quality achievement award.
