New Zealand Practice Nurse Leader UK Tour, July 2008 - Report for the Ministry of Health

In July 2008 the Chief Nurse and a Senior Analyst from the Nursing team at the Ministry of Health, along with four New Zealand Practice Nurse Leaders travelled to England and Wales on a two-week study tour. The group spent the first week attending the Royal College of Nurses, Practice Nurse Association Conference in Cardiff, Wales, and the second week visiting different practices in England and Wales. This is the Practice Nurse Leaders report of what they saw, heard and learnt.

A National Professional Development Framework for Palliative Care Nursing in Aotearoa New Zealand

This document, like the complementary A National Professional Development Framework for Cancer Nursing in Aotearoa New Zealand (in publication), provides a set of competency indicators that describe generalist and specialty practice in palliative care nursing, for nurses, managers and educators. It was developed as part of the implementation of the New Zealand Palliative Care Strategy (Ministry of Health 2001) and the Cancer Control Strategy Action Plan 2005–2010 (Ministry of Health 2005).
