Nursing in New Zealand

Working Groups

Working groups (eg, expert advisory groups, committees, reference groups and working parties) are convened to advise the Ministry on particular aspects of policy development and work programmes.

Some have terms of reference and meet on a regular basis and some are consulted via email.

During 2005-06 a group of experts was convened with the specific task of advising the Clinical Training Agency on aspects of post-graduate nursing training. That task is now complete.

Groups that are currently active are:

  • Expert Advisory Group on Primary Health Care Nursing
  • Advisory Committee on the Clinical Workforce to Support Registered Nurses
  • Nursing Advisory Group to the Clinical Training Agency - view more information in the Clinical Training Agency section.
  • Email consultation groups - Nursing Reference Group, Directors of Nursing and representatives of the national nursing organisations
