Programme features

The programme was developed by the University of Canterbury in consultation with the Ministry of Health, the Leadership Development Centre, District Health Boards New Zealand, Niu Vision Group Ltd and senior Pacific health and community leaders, to produce a distinctive leadership development experience which recognises different learning and leadership styles.

The programme consisted of three modules, based around a residential workshop:

  • Facing the Challenge: Leadership in a changing health sector
    Wellington, 26-28 April 2006
  • Being a Pacific Leader: Personal foundations for leadership
    Hamilton, July 12- 14 2006
  • Making a Difference: Bringing about change in the health system
    Christchurch, September 12- 14 2006

Programme presenters

The Pacific Health Leadership Development Programme 2006 was delivered by the University of Canterbury’s Macmillan Brown Centre for Pacific Studies, Business College and School of Management, School of Health Sciences.
