Summary

The framework for the collection, exchange and management of health information about identifiable individuals held on the National Immunisation Register (NIR) falls
within the provisions of the Health Act 1956, the Privacy Act 1993 and the Health Information Privacy Code 1994 (HIPC). The HIPC, in particular, provides a broad framework of controls for the management of information about identifiable individuals.

The purpose of this document is to set out the Privacy Policy in relation to the management of the health information held on the NIR.
