The purpose of this manual is to specify the minimum standards for Problem Gambling Intervention Service Providers data and information. This manual specifies the minimum standards for Providers’ capture, maintenance, privacy and security of data and information.

Data Collection and Submission Manual (PDF, 992 KB)
The purpose of this manual is to advise the Ministry of Health’s contracted Problem Gambling Service providers on how they should collect and submit service utilisation data into the Client Information Collection system.

In this manual the service utilisation data is referred to as the ‘CLIC data’. Note that this manual describes the minimum requirements, and that providers are expected to expand these processes to include their own administration and quality monitoring requirements.

Preventing and Minimising Gambling Harm: Three-year service plan 2007–2010
The three-year service plan 2007–2010 outlines the Ministry of Health’s plan to fund primary (public health), secondary and tertiary prevention services and activities, including research and workforce development, to minimise harm from problem gambling. The service plan will progress the high-level goals outlined in the Strategic Plan for Preventing and Minimising Gambling Harm 2004–2010.

Problem Gambling in New Zealand: Analysis of the 2002/03 New Zealand Health Survey
This report describes the extent of current problem gambling in New Zealand, and identifies key risk factors for problem gambling in New Zealand. The report also investigates the association between problem gambling and various health correlates, including addictive behaviours and self-rated health status.

This report describes where gambling venues and problem gambling counselling services are located in New Zealand. It also examines changes in gambling opportunities and problem gambling counselling provision from 2003 to 2005. This report updates the 2003 Problem Gambling Geography of New Zealand.

The Strategic Plan outlines the way in which the Ministry of Health plans to address the continuum of gambling harm. The six-year strategy includes primary prevention and population approaches, through to more selected intervention services for individuals and their families and significant others
