Welcome to our first quarterly newsletter aimed at keeping our many stakeholders in touch with what’s happening with recent and upcoming appointments made by the Minister of Health.

The Minister of Health has legislative responsibilities to make appointments to a range of statutory authorities, including District Health Boards, other Crown entities, health professional authorities and other statutory bodies.

The Ministry of Health is responsible for assisting the Minister in making these appointments by conducting the appointments process. The roles of statutory bodies vary, as do the roles and responsibilities of the appointed members.
The membership of the bodies ranges from persons with professional or health practitioner qualifications (which may be required by the legislation relating to the body) to laypersons or consumer representatives.

Please contact us if there are any issues you would like to see covered in future newsletters, or if you have questions about the appointments process that you would like answered.
