Submissions closed: 13 February 2009

Summary

This report contains 14 recommendations to the Minister of Health, from the Working Group for Achieving Quality in Emergency Departments. This Working Group was established in 2008, with a membership consisting of emergency department experts, and has reached its conclusions while undertaking dialogue with the wider health sector. Upon receipt of this report from the Working Group, the Minister of Health has determined that the report should be released for a full public consultation, and this is an opportunity for you to have your say.

The recommendations cover: the manner by which quality of services should be measured; standards and expectations to which district health boards should be held accountable; the means for coordinating national performance improvement; and effective service delivery.
