Summary
This document seeks comment on whether the professions of speech-language therapy and clinical physiology should be regulated under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003. The document discusses the relevant provisions of the Act; the reasons for, and consequences of, regulating a new profession under the Act; asks specific questions to assist people to comment on either of the two proposals; sets out the criteria for assessing applications for inclusion under the Act; and provides background material on speech-language therapy and clinical physiology. Submissions closed on Monday 3 December 2007.
