This document consults on the proposal to update the Schedule to the Medicines (Designated Prescriber: Optometrist) Regulations 2005. To enable you to make an informed decision the document includes, among other information, information on the following:
  • previous Cabinet decision to extend prescribing rights to appropriately qualified optometrists
  • current exemptions that allow optometrists to access certain prescription medicines
  • the medicines to be included in the Schedule.
