  • Applying for a Statutory Body or Committee

Welcome to our first newsletter of 2007 aimed at keeping our many stakeholders in touch with what’s happening with recent and upcoming appointments made by the Minister of Health to statutory bodies and committees.

Below is a list of appointments made between June and December 2006 as well as an advertisement for upcoming vacancies on various statutory bodies during 2007.

The Minister of Health has legislative responsibilities to make appointments to a range of statutory authorities, and other statutory bodies and committees.

The Ministry of Health is responsible for assisting the Minister in making these appointments by conducting the appointments process. The roles of statutory bodies vary, as do the roles and responsibilities of the appointed members. The membership of the bodies ranges from persons with professional or health practitioner qualifications (which may be required by the legislation relating to the body) to laypersons or consumer representatives.

Please contact us if there any issues you would like to see covered in future newsletters, or if you have questions about the appointments process that you would like answered.
