What is the Anaesthetic Medical Services Payment?
An Anaesthetic Medical Services Payment is a payment made to an Anaesthetic provider for services he/she has performed. (An Anaesthetic Medical Practitioner must hold an Annual Practising Certificate).

How much can I claim?
The maximum that can be claimed by an Anaesthetic Practitioner provider for any one patient for any single occasion on which that eligible patient receives the administration of an anaesthetic from the Anaesthetist provider is two claims as follows:

Once claim for administration of the anaesthetic and
One claim for a single pre-operative examination of a patient provided that examination has been carried out by the Anaesthetist Medical Practitioner.

The payment is given to the provider for the services they have supplied.

How do I claim?
The provider needs to fill in a claim form and send it into Sector Services.

When will my claims be paid?
Payment will be made within 20 business days of receiving a valid claim.

Please call the Contact Centre on 0800 458 448 who will post some more forms to you. Note that you will need to provide your payee number.
