What is the Locum Subsidy Payment?
The Locum Subsidy payment is claimed by GP/Practitioners when he/she goes on holiday or on education leave. This is part of the incentives for becoming a rural practice or provider. This can be provided once a year for a provider.

Who can claim this payment?
A GP/Practitioner can only claim for this payment.

How much can I claim?
There are two set of fees available:
a) $110 for Recreation
b) $165 for Education Leave

The claimant can claim for previous years, which can happen when a provider realizes this subsidy is available. There is no defined period when a claim should be submitted.

How do I claim?
A GP/Practitioner will send an invoice with the all the required details, such as the date when he/she went on leave, and the amount claimed.
