District Health Boards (DHBs) are governed by seven elected members and up to a further four members appointed by the Minister of Health. This document - Appointment Process for District Health Board Members- offers information on the Ministerial appointments process, including:

  • Conflicts of interest
  • The different stages of the appointment process itself.

The revised version of this document incorporates changes to the appointment process in light of the Crown Entities Act 2004.
