Summary of submissions - review of the Regulation of Human Tissue and Tissue-based Therapies

The Ministry of Health's Deputy Director-General, Sector Policy, Dr Gillian Durham says "Many submissions were substantial and very informative, and we recognise and value the time taken to prepare the submissions and attend meetings. We are very pleased with the interest and feedback. There were a wide range of views expressed on the issues covered in the Discussion Document and these are reflected in the Submissions Summary document."

"The focus is now on the policy development, which will draw on the consultation process and other factors such as international experience and evidence," Dr Durham says.

The next formal time for input is through the Select Committee processes, although the Ministry of Health will continue to engage with key stakeholders.
