The New Zealand Cervical Cancer Audit – Whakamatau Mate Pukupuku Taiawa O Aotearoa

Date of publication: November 2004

An Audit of Women with Invasive Cervical Cancer was recommended by the Ministerial Inquiry into Under-reporting Cervical Smears in the Gisborne Region of New Zealand (‘the Gisborne Inquiry’) in 2001.

An independent Audit team analysed the screening histories of 371 women with cervical cancer to identify any systemic problems in the National Cervical Screening Programme and suggest improvements.
