The Health Workforce: A Training Programme Analysis

Date of publication: December 2001

The Health Workforce: A Training Programme Analysis is a key document for the Clinical Training Agency (CTA) and for the health sector. It is a stocktake of training programmes funded by the CTA complemented by an analysis of the associated health workforce where reliable information is available.

This document is intended to be a resource for the many groups involved in health workforce including the Health Workforce Advisory Committee, the Ministry of Health, District Health Boards and providers and accreditors of training. It does not provide all the answers; nor does it identify all the issues. However, it identifies some urgent and critical post entry training issues, and therefore provides many challenges for the CTA and the sector.
