In May and June 2005 the Ministry of Health, along with the Ministry of Youth Development, held 20 consultation meetings throughout New Zealand, from Paihia to Invercargill. This included hui and fono in Auckland, Wellington and Christchuch.

The Ministry also received 106 written submissions.

This analysis is outlined in the attached document. It helped inform the development of the New Zealand Suicide Prevention Strategy 2006-2016.
