Submissions have closed

Public submissions were invited on this draft of the revised Protocol for Methadone Maintenance Treatment in New Zealand.

This Draft Protocol was designed to replace the existing National Protocol for Methadone Treatment in New Zealand. Once finalised it was the guiding document for the treatment of people with opioid dependence in New Zealand, which has been published as Opioid Substitution Treatment New Zealand Practice Guidelines

It is expected that services and prescribers will have their own local protocols which deal more specifically with some areas, local protocols will be required to align with and support the new Protocol.

The draft was widely distributed for comment by all interested parties.

Submissions closed Friday 31 August 2001.
