Tobacco Facts provides the latest adult and youth smoking prevalence data. Also provided is information regarding the quantity of tobacco products released in New Zealand.

It includes brief points about the health effects of tobacco smoking and selected New Zealand information about youth smoking.

The following smoking prevalence information is derived from consumer surveys conducted by AC Nielsen Ltd in people’s homes. These surveys include tobacco-related questions.

Smoking prevalence information relates to those aged 15 years and over. Further details about the surveys are provided in Appendix 1.
