Problem Gambling Intervention Services in New Zealand: National statistics 2004

Date of publication: October 2005

HP 4194

Problem Gambling Intervention Services in New Zealand: National statistics2004 presents national problem gambling services statistics for the 2004 calendar year.

The document presents data on the use of problem gambling intervention services. Although the data only represents help-seeking or voluntary behaviour, the annual report data set continues to advance the collective knowledge base of gambling harm, including problem gambling.

This is the first report to be published by the Ministry of Health since the Ministry became responsible for the funding and co-ordination of problem gambling services on 1 July 2004.

The data covers the utilisation of services funded by the Problem Gambling Committee from 1 January to 30 June 2004 and by the Ministry of Health’s Mental Health Directorate from 1 July to 31 December 2004.
