Health and Independence Report 2005
Director-General of Health’s annual report on the state of public health

Date of publication: October 2005

HP 4190

The Health and Independence Report is required under section 3C of the Health Act 1956 and has previously been published as a separate report at the end of the calendar year.

It draws together information on health and disability sector strategies, funding, workforce and activities to analyse the health and disability sector’s achievements and progress towards outcomes. In addition to presenting data on system inputs, outputs and outcomes, the report includes interim ‘headline’ indicators, which are a starting point for assessing progress towards system and societal outcomes.
