Summary

The National Screening Unit (NSU) of the Ministry of Health in association with a multidisciplinary Guideline Development Team has reviewed the 1999 ‘Guidelines for the management of women with abnormal cervical smears.’ The development of proposed new guidelines was in accordance with an evidence-based methodology, including an extensive review of the literature. The draft guidelines are now available for review and comment. A feedback form is enclosed below.

All feedback will be reviewed and assessed by the Guidelines Development Team before the final guidelines document is completed, with full discussion of the evidence, for publication in 2007.
