Group Manager - National Screening Unit

The Health and Disability National Services Directorate purchases services on behalf of individuals and communities in New Zealand, managing the relationships and contracts with the organisations who deliver these services. Population screening is about saving lives, reducing inequalities, and building the nation's health. The National Screening Unit’s role is to ensure the delivery of quality national screening programmes, that are based on good evidence and are trusted by the community.

As the successful applicant, you will have highly developed strategic and analytical skills. You must understand and be experienced in purchasing, delivering and managing high quality national programmes. You will have outstanding leadership skills at a senior management level with the ability to deal with complexity and deliver strategic management initiatives. You must have some knowledge and understanding of the concepts and philosophy behind population screening. Your leadership skills and flair for relationship and financial management will be put to good use as you professionally develop a culture of high performance – motivating and inspiring the group to broaden their talents and achieve on-going success.

This position is fulltime, permanent and located in Wellington.
