A top level person is needed for the National Screening Unit (NSU), Health and Disability National Services Directorate. The NSU is responsible for national leadership, co-ordination and quality for six programmes.


  • BreastScreen Aotearoa (BSA).
  • Newborn Metabolic Screening Programme
  • Antenatal HIV Screening
  • Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (UNHSP)
  • Quality improvement for Antenatal Down Syndrome

This is a superb opportunity to work at senior management level and to use your talents and abilities to really make a difference in a busy and challenging role. Your focus will be on providing first-rate support to the Group Manager. You will be organising busy schedules and acting as a first point of contact on their behalf with Ministry of Health staff and the wider health sector.

A high degree of professionalism including excellent organisational, time management and communication skills, with a customer service focus are pivotal. A proven ability to provide support at a high level and work under pressure are essential for this role. The capacity to work both independently and confidently is a pre-requisite. Highly competent computer literacy in Microsoft word, PowerPoint and Excel is required and preferably experience with Lotus Notes.

This is a full time permanent position located in Wellington.
