The Office of the Director of Public Health is seeking expressions of interest from Policy Analysts/Senior Policy Analysts for a permanent, full time position in the ever changing world of public health policy.

The Office of the Director of Public Health (ODPH) has a strategic role in developing policy advice and providing leadership on a variety of matters related to public health services and population health outcomes. Within the ODPH Group, the Public Health Legislation and Policy Team focuses on a similarly broad range of public health policy issues - often those involving some legislative dimension.

In our varied work environment, you will be exposed to a wide range of public health issues. You are likely to provide advice on matters relating to the role of statutory officers such as Medical Officers of Health and to be involved in aspects of pandemic preparedness and response. Our work programme spans communicable disease control and environmental health, through to climate change, international treaties and the work of the World Health Organisation.

This position, in a small but very experienced team, will offer you a stimulating policy making opportunity. The challenges are diverse and interesting, and by using your policy analysis skills, energy and your knowledge of the machinery of government, you will play an important role in developing and implementing public health policy and legislation. You will also be encouraged to further develop your policy skills.
