The Governance & Crown Entities team is looking for a bright and energetic individual to join our high-performing team. As a Senior Advisor within the team, you’ll be responsible for successfully leading a variety of work, largely focussed on the board performance of District Health Boards and other health Crown entities. You’ll also help identify best practice governance approaches, manage opportunities for innovative change and improvement, and become involved in a range of interesting strategic issues.

To succeed with the team, you’ll be skilled at thinking quickly on your feet and in developing innovative solutions to complex problems. You’ll also be an excellent communicator, and your skills in building and maintaining relationships will be vital as you work with senior players in the sector and across government. Suitable backgrounds include policy analysis, political science, law, economics and finance, although motivated and enthusiastic candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

An understanding of the New Zealand health and disability sector and of Government structures and processes, and an awareness of Māori issues and the Treaty of Waitangi, are also desirable.

The role on offer is a full time permanent position based in Wellington, which reports to the Manager, Governance & Crown Entities.
